Greg Birkumshaw is a multidisciplinary award-winning composer and sound designer based in London, UK. He holds an MA in Scoring for Moving Image from City University, London. His work includes compositions for short films, animations, feature films, and pieces for museums and art galleries around the world.
His compositions are known for their ability to evoke humanity and its stories through the breadth of moving and disturbing compositions, each attentively designed to take the listener on a journey both within and out of themselves, not only as an individual but too, as a society.
One of his most notable works is the soundtrack for Naeem Mahmood’s “Gods Of Their Own Religion”, which was met with resounding praise and reverence. The film’s story depended on the narrative strength of the soundtrack, which he delivered with his signature attention to detail and nuance.
